What does custom software from Eren mean?

We examine the tools you already use before recommending a custom application. Configuration, a supported connection or a small build may fit. We compare the benefit, setup and ongoing costs before agreeing the work. Every Build has one fixed price agreed before work starts.

Eren is based in Rockford, Illinois, and works with owners online.

Configure, connect or build

  • Configure. An existing feature may cover the job; confirm the plan, setup effort and limitations.
  • Connect. A supported connection may reduce repeated entry; check permissions, failures and who maintains it.
  • Build. A defined need remains that existing tools cannot meet well enough at an acceptable cost. A small tool is scoped around your real process.

For an example, see Change Desk, a fictional change-request tool for a fabrication shop: nothing reaches the floor until cost, date and the customer’s confirmation are settled.

When to leave it alone

If the current process meets the need and the likely benefit of changing it is small, leave it alone. Check the effort, error risk and maintenance involved before deciding. The guide tools that don’t talk to each other shows how to tell, with a pen and half an hour.

What every Build includes

  • One process mapped from a real example before anything is built.
  • One fixed price, half to start and half when you accept it.
  • Agreed checks: the normal case, the missing-information case and the exception each behave as agreed.
  • A 30-day fix period after you accept it.
  • Everything built is yours, with no subscription to us, and your data stays exportable.
  • Your nominated team member can carry out the agreed routine tasks using the handover.

How much does custom software cost?

An Eren Build starts from $1,500, with the exact price fixed after a Diagnose ($750), which examines one problem and ranks up to three fixes. Software, hosting and tax are shown separately before you agree. The first step is a free 15-minute First Look.

Questions owners ask

Do we have to replace the software we have?

We check what your existing tools can do first. Configuration or a supported connection may be enough. Replacement or custom software is recommended only after comparing the fit, costs and ongoing work involved.

Can you connect any two tools?

Only where both tools and your plans allow it. We confirm that before quoting, and we don’t quote for connections we haven’t checked.

What if something breaks after handover?

For 30 days after you accept a Build, anything that stops meeting a check we agreed is fixed at no charge. Changes your other software vendors make later are new work, quoted separately.

Do you build websites too?

Yes. A Build can include the agreed pages and the tools needed to manage their content or requests. The diagnosis determines the scope. See services.

Who owns the software?

You do. Everything built is yours, with no subscription to us.
